Who wants to participate in a group blog about lingerie and boudoir photography?

The Lingerie Misfits
by moetchandon85
Whenever I prowl social media in order to find potential clients and network with other businesses, I notice that people that appear the most interested in the products I have to offer are models, exotic dancers, and boudoir photographers. I noticed that people interested in lingerie and club wear outside of those professions are hard to find. Even The Lingerie Addict, a gatekeeper lingerie blogger I follow tweeted about this phenomenon last week. She wrote “The most lucrative customers in a given industry – lingerie included – aren’t folks with Instagrams or Twitters or blogs. They’re the silent people who buy a handful of beige bras every six months like clockwork.” I found this tweet very compelling because it feeds into the narrative that many people – especially women – are not that interested in fancy lingerie. There are many reasons; however, the three most common is that many women feel that buying fancy lingerie is not worth the money and that women only want to wear fancy lingerie when there is a special occasion. Lastly, many have the misconception that they have to have the body of a model in order to wear lavish undergarments. This is not the case entirely. Like many other things in life, your underwear is an investment. You can wear cheap, poorly fitting underwear that make your feel dead and stiff under your clothes. Or, you can wear quality underwear that make you feel loose, comfortable, and free under your clothes. The options are clearly there. I believe the Duluth Trading Company hit the nail on the head with their analogous commercials.

What makes a lingerie enthusiast an enthusiast? When I take the time to locate people that are interested in lingerie, lingerie fashion, and boudoir photography they all have the same names that are derivatives of each other- The Lingerie Addict, A Lingerie Addiction, etc. Is lingerie an addiction? Do people really have an insatiable desire for lingerie? What makes someone want to have an extensive lingerie collection? What is their motivation? We will never know…nor does it matter! Lingerie is personal body ornaments that people use to make themselves look good and feel good. It is no different than a diamond ring, a golden tiara, or a platinum bracelet. As humans, we are naturally drawn to beauty. We love the sublime shock and awe of things that sparkle, of things that decorate us to make us a living piece of artwork! Need an example, check out the The Love of Lingerie on Instagram. On her page, she shares beautiful images of her bra collections showcasing her admiration for her bosom to the world. You will see pretty floral lingerie bras to sheer, lace bras. She even offers lingerie fashion advice and reviews of her bra collection. If you need ideas on bra sets and how to wear bra sets, I highly recommend you follow her Instagram page!

Lingerie is an Addiction
by moetchandon85
Diana Ross once sang ‘If there’s a cure for this, I don’t want it and if there’s a remedy, I’ll run from it’ Lingerie = Dependency- once you enjoy and relish in sexy lingerie that is seductive, fun, and embraces your everyday vixen persona you will be hooked! This is the sentiment that you get when you watch short art film Slumber by Lingerie Addiction. The video features a group of girlfriends chilling, enjoying each other’s company to a hip-hop track with cool, party vibes. Then, by the video’s end the lovely ladies are strip down to their undergarments in order to glance at each other and compare each other’s choice of lingerie. The beautiful women exhibit amusement by dancing around each other in front of the camera with delightful smiles and confident body language. The theme of this film is pride in femininity, freedom, and that all women are sexy. This is because the video features women of different types- tattooed vixens, women of different body types, races, and hairstyles; yet, they all appear to enjoy each other’s company which gives the mood of ladies’ day out a party atmosphere. Like the beautiful women in the short cinema, once your find the sexy lingerie that make you look your best and feel your best- you will be addicted to it! Check out the video Slumber by Lingerie Addiction and watch for yourself!
Laws of Attraction
by moetchandon85

Just a week ago, I began following a blog on Tumblr that focused on thicker, larger women posing for boudoir photos and protesting New York Fashion Week because of the lack of diversity in models of various body types. The blog struck me because it was a curation showing how women- even larger women- are sexy. I was so intrigued by the blog that I guest posted on it. In the past, I have had customers tell me that they don’t wear lingerie because they don’t think they would look good wearing it. However, like always, I end up monologuing that all women have the potential to look sexy and desirable in lingerie. It is a matter of choosing lingerie that does two things- 1. picking the best pieces that make you look the best and 2. choosing the best pieces that make you feel the best. As humans, one of the things that make us secure is our desirability to attract mates. Lingerie adds to your desirability because it lets your body share your narrative. It reveals how you feel about yourself in your private life. When you wear some sexy lingerie that makes you feel your best, your personal defenses are down and you feel more confident and secure in mingling with others. Remember, lingerie is most often used as a symbol of seduction. Many women have the tendency to wear sexy lingerie when they start dating or beginning new relationships. Still, why wait to put on some of your best underwear to impress someone else? Rather, it is best to put on your best undergarments all the time in order to highlight your assets and desirability to attract others. Lingerie, while it serves its purpose providing a base layer under clothes, it also serves as a way of expression of how you see your ‘self’. Therefore, take the time to explore and invest in your lingerie wardrobe in order to look your best and feel your best. Attraction starts with self-satisfaction before anything!

Big Girls Make Big Moves in 2018
by moetchandon85
Just the other day, I was in a conversation with a friend of mine about modeling. This is because she is currently working out like crazy to prepare to run in a series of marathons across Chicago this year. I suggested to her to consider modeling because she is highly photogenic, an extrovert, and posts body images on social media regularly. Her response was ‘Are you kidding me" and “This thickness will bring the house down”. Mind you, my friend’s dimensions are 36/30/38. Also, I informed her that plus size models make considerably more money these days compared to the status quo. She told me she would consider it. She thought that it was a revelation that thicker women were in demand for modeling at the moment. Now, the purpose of writing about this conversation is because it is example of how many women can lack confidence in themselves because of their figure. In 2018, continuing with the ongoing trend, women of all types have made and continue to make strides in making their presence known in the fashion scene- whether is it boudoir photography, nude photography, fashion modeling, etc. This is because the age of body shaming is becoming less of an issue as people become more enlightened. People are learning to take pride in themselves and try not to strive to be what they are not. Furthermore, when it comes to advertising, consumers are demanding that clothes and fashion advertising show more realistic people in order for people to get a better idea of how trending fashions will look on them. Lastly, hiring plus size models to exhibit products from Hollywood Lifestyles Lingerie Boutique has taught me a lot about motivation and confidence. This is because hiring thicker models proved to me what I was trying to prove to the world…sexy is a personality! Anyone can be sexy! But we already knew that!
